Yarn dyeing and later pattern design, started as an extension of my other hobbies - spinning yarn, knitting and crochet.
In 2017 I left a full time job that was literally sucking the life out of me, and decided it was finally time to learn to enjoy what I do. I really wanted to create my own natural yarn & fibre line, in warm earthy colors. It’s the colors I want to knit with, the colours I want to wear and the colours I can’t live without. And so the love for designing knitwear started.
Having lived all over South Africa, from the leafy green Boland wine region to the strange, almost Marshian landscapes of the Free State, I draw inspiration for my colorways and designs from my surroundings. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a deep fascination with the Cape Fynbos Species and the rich, earthy tones prevalent across the entire species.
I’m a wife and mom to a little girl. I’m also an introvert, preferring solitude over social outings. I’m a reader, poetry writer and enjoy spinning a wide variety of natural fibres.
