Please note: this cowl is part of a set (see An Bealach headband). Testers are welcome to knit one or both pieces.
An Bealach means ‘the Way’ in Irish. This cowl was inspired by the shell symbol of the Camino de Santiago and a friend who completed the Camino a couple years ago.
Using worsted/aran weight yarn and worked in the round, An Bealach uses a variation of the purl shell stitch. This piece has a bit of a sporty feel to it (the kind of piece you could toss into a backpack and put on/remove easily) while also being versatile enough to dress up a simple dress or top.
Please note that as this is my first design, I can only offer the final pattern as payment; however, all testers will receive the pattern for both the cowl and headband. Additionally, testers who sign up before midnight GMT on Sunday the 21st February will be entered into a raffle for two skeins of yarn (see my Instagram @cniotaillaimhe for more details).
