What is it about triangles? While developing this design, I was inspired by the
symbols for fire, water, air, and earth and astrology. The trine (symbolized by the triangle) represents a harmonious connection between three aspects. It can also be understood as the trinity and triple goddess. As I delved into my own astrology chart I discovered that I had what is called a "Grand Water Trine", the signs under the water elements are in harmonious aspects to each other. This was an interesting part of my own self-discovery. Wearing all the elements captured in Triangulated Shawl promotes harmony. We are all prone at times to get out of balance between our thoughts, emotions, day to day experience and our ambitions (air, water, earth, fire respectively). My aim was to design a shawl to comfortably fit over the shoulders and keep you warm with stockinette sections for easy knitting and lace sections for some variety.
I hope that this design can bring you some comfort while you watch your favorite show or just silently knitting/meditating.
