Cables Lace Knitting Socks Toe Up Socks Working from a Chart Working in the Round
Description
Podestal Socks are the next instalment of my series of socks inspired by Australian floral species, and this patter is all about banksia seed pods. These large, conical seed pods have a unique puckered surface reminiscent of eyes that is really interesting to look at, and I just knew that texture would make for an equally striking sock!
These toe up socks feature an eye catching panel of seed pods made using simple lace and the occasional cable stitch. Thus they are excellent for an ambitious beginner lace/cable knitter or someone who wants the ease and satisfaction of stockinette with just enough flavour to keep things interesting. The chart is worked over 16 stitches and is repetitive enough that you can get the hang of it quickly.
