Description
Inspired by the Oregon Coast and Pacific Ocean, this cowl is knit from bottom to top. The edges are knit flat, perpendicular to the body, by picking up live stitches from the top and bottom. You’ll start with a provisional cast on, knit the body in the round, pick up and knit the collar (top edge), then finish by picking up and knitting the bottom edge.
Sample uses DK weight yarn; other weights may be used but it will affect yardage, gauge, and finished dimensions. Gauge is not crucial for this piece.
US 5 (3.75mm) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge), 16-20” cable
The pattern also includes an option for simpler ribbed edging; I’d love to find one tester to knit the ribbed edging instead of cabled edging.
Progress photos posted to social media are fine, as long as the content of the actual pattern is not shared. Please use hashtag #roadsendcowl!
