Description

I was inspired by Latvian mittens with their sun symbols which have the meaning of change and renewal. I find this is particularly suited to this time of the year and the holiday season. As they are not only worn at Christmas or Yuletide I chose the name Wintertide instead where “tide” merely means “a time of year”.

This is a standard mitten shape, knitted in the round with peasant thumb. The thumb is knitted after the main part of the mitten has been done.
