My name is Esther.
I'm Dutch, living in the Netherlands with my husband and 3 children (ages 4, nearly 8 and nearly 12).
I'm multilingual (English and German near-native) and have an extensive background working full-time in international companies, handling complex order management for large customer accounts, as well as editorial tasks for newsletters, training manuals and webpages.
In November 2017 I found myself at home in need of a career change. This gave me the opportunity to explore my strengths and how to combine my creator/crafty side with the skills I obtained in my decades spent in the office.
In 2018 I started testing patterns (knit and crochet) for several designers, with much success!
In early 2019, I started Tech Editing knit and crochet patterns.
Check out my Ravelry project page (username: purpledream), to get an impression of my work so far .
I'm always looking for optimal result in both finished object as well as user-friendliness of the pattern.
I enjoy going into "uncharted territory" and have a keen eye for detail (in grammar, spelling, punctuation, pattern lay-out, etc.).
Designers: Let's discuss opportunities to collaborate!
I'm an experienced knitter and crocheter (intermediate to advanced level), knitting since age 7 (1983) and crocheting since 2007.
My inspiration and motivation comes in many forms, online and offline. The desire to craft, learn and create was instilled in me from an early age by my maternal grandmother and my mother.
For me crafting is a lifeline, a mental health support, relaxing portable meditation-through-motion, providing me a challenge on a wholesome level.
With each project I like to challenge myself to improve my skills, learn new techniques, or make larger items.
I love to feel yarn pass through my hands, creating something beautiful and useful, to brighten the world around me.
Please reach out and discuss opportunities to collaborate!
Have a yarny day!
