My name is Janet Anthony. I was taught to knit when I was 4-6 years old by my Irish Grandmother.
I have been knitting since then. My first projects in 1969 were Barbie Clothes, Barbie rugs, and small afghans. When in Jr. High School I crocheted bun warmers for friends. When in high school I knit baby sets of booties, sweaters and hats for family members having babies. Hats and scarves too. When in college I knitted full afghans for friends, or those who needed blankets. I made sweaters for boyfriends.
I graduated with a B.S. in Engineering Physics. I worked as a Nuclear Engineer, but never stopped knitting. I have knitted everything from hoodies for grandchildren to an Irish cabled alpaca yarn sweater jacket for my daughter. One of my latest projects was a (Outlander inspired) long shawl for my other daughter. I have knitted for non-profit charities auctions.
These are just a few of my biographical projects. I am now a retired Technology Director and Computer Science High School Teacher. I have an Etsy shop and sell vintage treasures, and more. I have knitted items for my shop, but more than often I give those as gifts instead.
I have two married daughters, and 5 grandchildren! They are a great blessing to me in these times! I never lacked for of making a knitted or crotched project!
( I have done many of the unchecked skills below, but do not consider myself as "Skilled" in them)
