Hi there! My name is Lili, and I am an avid knitter, novice yarn dyer and designer, handspinner, and all the time cat mom. I currently work at a LYS in Los Angeles, CA, but spend my free time working on getting my Knitting Tech Editor certification, designing, dyeing, and on the multitude of projects have going.
I really got started knitting when I came home from school due to a health issue. With more free time on my hands, I decided to put those hands to use! I taught myself how to knit, and later crochet, but honed my knitting skills at a yarn shop near me. And now I've most definitely caught the fiber love bug.
I am also really passionate about animal welfare and, when making my own yarn, I source from the most ethical, cruelty-free, or simply animal-free materials. Just recently I received the yarn made of wool I had sourced from a sheep rescue in Australia and then sent to an eco-friendly mill.
Project-wise, I have currently been on an apparel and sock knitting spree. I love making clothes and all the shaping that goes with it. I am also very big on colorwork and texture-work. My favorite patterns are ones that POP! Like patterns with stark color contrasts, patterns with sharp lines, and patterns with interesting structure or texture. I also love learning new techniques and relish projects that challenge me to reach beyond the toolbox I already have.
