I learned to knit when I was a kid in girl scouts but have only made sarves and a blanket. My mom tried to teach me to crochet when I was a kid. I was able to do chain stitches, but had trouble moving on from there. It didn't help that my mom crocheted backwards. Then when I was an adult and had a daughter I wanted to try to learn to crochet with her so I got a kids crochet book from the library. I made almost everything in the book even though my daughter had no interest. I can now follow written patterns, I've made a graph pattern, and I love to follow YouTube videos to make even more things.
